Project Life Catch-Up (Weeks 37-42)

I've been trying to use some of my year end free time to get some of my Project Life pages finished up! My goal is to have all of 2013 done by the end of the year! We'll see if I'm able to accomplish it!

For 2014, I am going to take a bit of a break with Project Life. I've completed 2012 and 2013 and I've loved the project but I need to focus on some different projects this year. For example, I'd really like to focus on completing my childhood album and get back to semi-regularly scrapbooking layouts. Layouts were put on the back burner during my Project Life years and I miss creating those! I also want to begin making some headway on my heritage pages (and heritage research). So, expect to see more of those in 2014!

Anyway, here are weeks 37-42 of our 2013 Project Life album ...

Layout To Share - What Does The Fox Say?

Here is another layout that I created using a template from the Simple Scrapper Premium membership ... these templates are so fantastic!  I love how unique this particular template was which I think really added to the entire page which focuses on Alex's fascination with the pop culture sensation that is the YouTube video 'What Does the Fox Say?'  It's such a common thing at our house at the moment, it felt appropriate to document it for our scrapbooks!

Layout: Ivey Family Portrait

There are a lot of reasons for my love of genealogy and family history but one of them is this photograph which is one of the first family portraits from the past that I recall seeing as a child.  I thought it would be fun to create a layout for my heritage album showcasing this photo and the story behind why I was so fascinated by it! I'm really going to work more on my heritage and childhood albums in 2014 so expect to see a few more layouts from the past coming up!

For this layout, I was inspired by a Story Starter from the Simple Scrapper Premium Membership and also used a template from the Simple Scrapper Premium Membership! I can't tell you how much I've learned from being a part of Simple Scrapper - what a fountain of inspiration! For more details on the membership, head over to Simple Scrapper!

New Layout to Share

I created a layout about a poem and art project that Alex created in 2nd grade. Such a talented little boy we have! Used lots of Valorie Wibbens goodies (can find her products here) as well as a template from the Simple Scrapper Free Sampler (can be found here)!

New Layout to Share

My dad made Meighan a beautiful piece of stained glass art based on a drawing she drew for him while we visited at Christmas last year. Within weeks, he'd send her the piece he made and I wanted to be sure it was documented for our family because it was so beautiful and such an amazing gift for Meighan! I used a bunch of yummy goodies from Valorie Wibbens - you HAVE to check out her collaborative kit with Karla Dudley which is entitled The Good Stuff. It's so fantastic - versatile and full of amazing bits!

Two New Layouts to Share

Hi everyone! Back with a couple of layouts this time ... Did you know I have the best mom ever? Well, I do ... so I found this fantastic photo of her from 1972 and thought it was time to document a story that needs telling - how strong she is and how she's overcome so much and managed to make a wonderful life for me (and ultimately her grandchildren). We are so lucky to have her ...

In addition, I created a fun Halloween page that was a little more than 'just' about Halloween - it tells the story of our first Halloween after moving back to Virginia last year and how we managed just fine!

Just wanted to mention that both layouts were created using templates that come as part of the Simple Scrapper membership. The first layout was the result of one of their Story Starters 9also part of the membership). The Simple Scrapper membership is just amazing. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Project Life - Week 31

Here is our Week 31 spread - there weren't many photos this particular week since the kids were visiting their grandparents and I was just enjoying time with Paul. I put the camera down and just enjoyed the quiet! So, filling in a spread about our week was more challenging than usual but I made it work!

And a new layout using lots of Valorie Wibbens goodies from The Lilypad ...

Valorie Wibbens and Heather Joyce have such a cool new product - Ramblings - which will give you some cool handwritten and drawn elements to take your photography (or scrapbook pages) to the next level. They are mobile ready as well! Very cool product! Here is what I did with them ...

And I created a couple of scrapbook pages with some of Val's new goodies from this week -
